Where have we been??

As I’m sure many of you noticed, our blog kind of stopped being updated this past year almost completely… Ummm… you could say that I just simply wasn’t up to it. When I got pregnant with the twins, I literally could barely do much of anything but sleep. The first 4 months were so incredibly draining…I guess it sucks a lot of energy out of one’s body creating 20 fingers and 20 toes! Once that was over, I had about a month of feeling OK before I was simply SO huge that it was like being 9 months pregnant for months on end! I can’t tell you how many people would ask me at 5 months pregnant if I was due that week! LOL. Then the pre-term labor and bed rest… and then what can I say — WE HAD TWINS! Now they are 8 months old and I am finally feeling like my head is screwed back on somewhat correctly! We are starting to get some sleep, starting to find some sort of routine and I’m excited about being able to get back into doing some of the things I love — including posting here!

You can be looking forward to us sharing some of our recent work, along with some of the work from this past year for you to see! For now, I thought I would share a pic of our family (thank you Mae & Michael).

Lisa and Sean are one of those couples that seem so adorably in love that it is sweet! They are playful and fun and seem to just love being in one another’s company. I had a great time photographing them and can’t wait for their wedding that is coming up soon!

Engagement: Vanessa and Cris

Thought it was about time for another blog post! With all the recent engagements that happened on Valentine’s Day, I thought it was only right to post an engagement session! Vanessa and Cris wanted a 50’s style session– which was totally awesome! We had so much fun playing around at the railroad station!

Elaina and Mike Engagement

Elaina & Mike’s Engagement session was amazing! They wanted to do their shoot in downtown LA at the Standard, where they got engaged. We started off on the rooftop bar- which is really awesome if you haven’t been there before. Very modern and trendy!

When we finished playing on the rooftop, we played throughout the hotel –this shot is actually the entrance to the bathroom in the bar area!! LOL! Gotta use the color and textures where we find it!

And this one is in the elevator!

Holly loves this next shot.

And then we went hiking around town looking for fun places to shoot.

Since this venue was so special to Elaina & Mike, I thought this shot would be kind of fun! You can see them on the right side of the image!

Engagement: Katie and David

Katie & David’s shoot was a blast. We started off at a red barn that has a rad texture and then wandered off to some fields with some killer light. Katie and David had no problems warming up to each other and being sweet and intimate. We can’t wait for their wedding in a few weeks. Enjoy!

Engagement: Shiloh and Jason

Hey everyone! Thank you for all your well wishes and support during this crazy time in our lives.

Donny posted previously that I went into the hospital and was expected to deliver the twins that weekend. Well, that is what the doctors thought, but gratefully the twins decided that they would stay in for a little while more. It was quite the dramatic time – not only were they continually trying to keep me from delivering so early, but all the drugs and the iv that they gave me caused some other issues… The doctors told me TWICE that I might have a condition that could kill me…. Come to find out that either the drugs or the iv had pumped so much liquid into my body that it filled my lungs and around my heart with liquid. Once they drained the 9.5 LITERS from my body, things started to get better.

During my three week “vacation” at the hospital, they were constantly expecting me to deliver any day…, but now I have actually been released and sent home on bedrest! It is so great to be with my family again! So… thank you so much for all your prayers!!! We’ll definitely let you know when the twinsies arrive!

Well… onto pictures! We have bunches of weddings, engagements and portraits to post — so be checking in! Here are Shiloh & Jason who will be getting married at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda this October!

Hannah and Ryan Engagement

Hannah & Ryan’s engagement session was a lot of fun! We took them down to the beach and were able to get some pretty awesome shots of them! They are quite the adorable couple, don’t you think!! This first one is one of my favorites because of the sweet tenderness that they showed..

However, we were having a LOT of fun with the sun flare and dramatic lighting!

They were total troopers and had no problem climbing up the rocks to get these dramatic shots! I think Hannah was a bit scared, but it was so worth it!

I loved how adorable and cute they were playing together!

Another one of my fave shots! … You two were a blast to photograph! Your wedding is going to be awesome! Congratulations!

Lisa and Tim: Mission San Juan Capistrano

For Lisa & Tim’s engagement session, they chose the Mission in San Juan Capistrano. We love shooting there!! –It’s beautiful in so many ways, it has great texture and colors and there are numerous areas to play with. The only tricky part is trying not to get all the other photographers who are also there in your shot!

I love the flirty way that Lisa is standing in this shot!

Hey! We hope everyone is busy enjoying themselves this weekend! We see Christmas lights going up everywhere and we are starting to realize that we are in the Christmas season! We can’t believe the holidays are upon us! One of our yearly goals has been to get Christmas lights up… Obviously since it continues to be a goal, it hasn’t happened yet. I really wanted to do it this year, but looking at our schedule I don’t know how/when we are going to fit that in! I’m wondering, do you think it will look weird if I put them up in, say, February when I have a bit more time? Then they will be ready for next year, right???? Hmmmm….

Candice and Phil’s Engagement Session

Candice & Phil were a blast to photograph. They are the cutest couple. They really enjoy one another’s company and enjoy being goofy and having a good time! We even got a chance to hang out at dinner afterwards which was fun. Here are some of their shots.

What can I say…I’m slightly feet obsessed…
